CNO Naval History Essay Contest On 2 February 2017, the Chief of Naval Operations announced the CNO Naval History Essay Contest to further our understanding of how lessons from history inform our way ahead. The goal of the contest is to inspire insight and dialogue from across the widest spectrum of academic, operational, military, and civilian personnel, both from within the naval services.
Annually organized The Fountain Essay Contest has been drawing thousands of talented writers from the United States and around the world. “Should we be grateful?” was the theme of the 2018 contest, and it was a challenge for us to select the winners out of many well-written essays. We congratulate every one for participating and sharing their stories and wisdom with us.
